Jobs@UIOWA Careers is Hiring a Marketing Specialist Near Iowa, IA

Marketing Specialist- College of Liberal Arts and Sciences 

The Marketing Specialist will play a key role on the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Marketing and Communications team (CLAS MarCom) by leveraging best practices and modern technologies to help grow enrollments for specific CLAS programs. This position will focus 50% of their effort on marketing activities for programs in the School of Social Work, and 50% focused on other programs as assigned, within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Drive growth of CLAS programs through the delivery of strategic marketing services with a focus on professional, online, and nondegree offerings. 
  • Engage and collaborate with program faculty and staff to clearly identify goals and develop marketing plans in pursuit of those objectives. 
  • Collaborate with CLAS MarCom and vendor partners as needed to plan, carry out, and assess the performance of program marketing efforts including email marketing, digital campaigns, and inbound marketing tactics. 
  • Develop other marketing materials (web copywriting, advertisements, content, and collateral) as required. 
  • Utilize various digital platforms including Hubspot Marketing Hub, Dispatch email client, SiteNow v3 (Drupal 9) CMS, social media platforms, Google Analytics, and other modern marketing technologies, in the execution of marketing campaigns and projects. 
  • Utilize appropriate and relevant channel metrics and key performance indicators to assess and optimize marketing activities. 
  • Collaborate with CLAS Admissions team on undergraduate recruitment marketing projects. 
  • Hire, train, and supervise student employees to assist in these activities.

This position will be based with the CLAS MarCom team in University Capitol Center (UCC) and will be eligible for a hybrid work-arrangement with a combination of on-campus and remote work.

Hybrid within Iowa: This position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed upon the start of your employment. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually, and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

Education Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communication, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Three years of professional marketing experience. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to write effectively under deadline for a variety of purposes, goals, audiences, and media. 
  • Proven abilities in the planning, organization, and assessment of marketing efforts.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful teamwork.
  • Demonstrated understanding of modern marketing best practices.
  • Experience utilizing web content management systems.
  • Experience with email marketing tactics and technologies. 
  • Experience with project management methods and tools.
  • Experience with Google Analytics.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with GA4. 
  • Experience in higher education marketing. 
  • Experience with digital advertising platforms like Meta, LinkedIn, and Google. 
  • Experience with SEO.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms. 
  • Experience with website search-engine optimization (SEO) and content strategy.
