We are seeking a Communications Manager (Strategic Communications) to support our government customer at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC. This is a hybrid role that will require some on-site work when needed. If requested, the Communications Manager must be available to travel, and work nights, holidays, and weekends.
• As a working manager, recommend, execute, and maintain communication strategies, plans, and message management processes with a focus on internal communication and written communication• Oversee communication team and activities; directly supervise NCS employees • Manage strategic communication service lines across multiple NASA centers• Recommend, execute, and maintain communication strategies, plans, and message management processes• Contribute to the development of integrated communication plans and execution against those plans • Responsible for communication research, strategy, planning, integration, execution, and key messaging goals and their measurement standards • Recommend adjustments to communication strategies, plans, and key messages and execute accordingly• Establish and maintain relationships with appropriate NASA stakeholders, communications staff, and across functional areas to ensure effective and integrated communications • Manage deliverables and ensure quality assurance standards are met across functional requirements• Monitor and recommend emerging communications channels and practices• Generate written and metric reports
• Eligible for a government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required)• Bachelor's degree in appropriate area of specialization from an accredited college or university• Must have 15 years of relevant experience • Advanced oral and written communication, including writing and editing• Advanced problem-solving skills

This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
