The client is seeking a skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team in San Antonio, TX, for a contract position with the potential for extension. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines, optimizing data flow, and supporting analytics initiatives within our organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop data pipelines using Azure ADF (Azure Data Factory) to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
Create and maintain efficient SQL scripts and queries to extract and manipulate data as per business requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and design solutions to support analytics and reporting initiatives.
Optimize data flow processes to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of data pipelines.
Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security across all data-related activities.
Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior team members and stakeholders on data engineering concepts and best practices.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, provide project updates, and address any technical issues or concerns.
Required Skills:
Extensive experience (10 years) in data engineering roles, with a focus on designing and implementing data pipelines.
Proficiency in Azure ADF (Azure Data Factory) for building and orchestrating data pipelines.
Strong SQL skills with the ability to write complex queries and optimize database performance.
Experience in designing data flow architectures and optimizing data processing workflows.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Azure Synapse Analytics or Google BigQuery.
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
Previous experience in the healthcare or veterinary industry is a plus.
