JobRapido is Hiring an Employee Experience Specialist Near richmond, VA

The Employee Experience Specialist at Shamin Hotels is responsible for leveraging our core values (Team Up, Own It, and Passionately Serve) to support resolution of conflict or concern at the property level for all associates and leaders.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Create an engaging and trusting line of communication where employees have a voice. 
  • Assists property management with performance concerns and disciplinary action, using the designed process for coaching improvement.
  • Leads the resolution of conflict regarding issues with time/ attendance, safety in the workplace, theft, employee experience, and any workplace conflict between coworkers or members of the management team.
  • Leads the initial investigation gathering facts and partnering in interviews in claims regarding discrimination, bullying, sexual harassment, and hostile work environment.
  • Partners with members of the People team, Safety & Risk Management team, and other operational leaders to resolve issues and consider process updates as needed to be proactive.
  • Organizes and executes the annual employee experience feedback survey. Partners with operations leaders to ensure timely feedback by identifying trends, areas of opportunity, and effective solutions.
  • Leads the creation and implementation of programs supporting continuous improvement in employee engagement and programs that highlight a TOP (Team Up, Own It, Passionately Serve) driven workplace. 
  • Conducts exit interviews, summarizes findings, and discusses trends and concerns with the Corporate Director of HR.
  • Maintains an attitude and philosophy in alignment with Shamin Hotels core values, believing in the positive intention of conflict resolution.
  • Partners with other members of the People team to ensure a positive and immersive employee lifecycle at the corporate office and property level.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal, counseling, and negotiation skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity requirements.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resource Management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication in Spanish is a BONUS.
  • Three years of experience in an employee relations position.
  • Five years of experience in the hospitality industry, hotel or food service.
  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred.
