Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Actively assist in the oversight of general accounting functions, including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Assist in the management of the month-end close process including bank and credit card reconciliations, review of AP and AR agings, revenue and expense accruals, prepaid expense amortization, intangible and fixed asset amortization and depreciation, and operating expense allocations.
- Prepare the analysis of P&L actuals versus budget or forecast, and prior year to identify and explain variances and correct any errors found. Ensure major variances are communicated to management/business leaders to determine if forecasts must be adjusted.
- Own and maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and quarterly and annual balance sheet rollforwards.
- Assist in the review of monthly intercompany transactions and account balances to ensure that intercompany activity is properly eliminated upon consolidation.
- Prepare and manage the weekly and monthly cash forecasts to determine, with the assistance of senior management, the organization cash needs in a timely manner.
- Possess and demonstrate a basic understanding of revenue recognition rules, and with the assistance of management, the ability to apply those rules to revenue contracts in order to accurately record revenue in the proper period.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of the matching principle and how it relates to revenue recognition.
- Assist in preparing deliverables for interim and annual external audits and ensure audit inquiries are promptly responded to and resolved.
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax requests.
- Assist senior management with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages.
