Job Description
  • Classify positions at all levels based on program position analysis and develop evaluation statements.
  • Draft new Position Descriptions (PD); edit and rewrite existing PDs; coordinate with the Office of Human Resource (OHR) Classification staff for the classification of positions.
  • Make Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA), Bargaining Unit Status (BSU), and Position Designation determinations.
  • Coordinate with Labor and Employee Relations Specialists to assign on the aforementioned items.
  • Perform desk audits and classification and position reviews; review PDs; update HR information systems.
  • Review and advise on reorganization and realignment plans.
  • Make corrections to BUS and FLSA status codes.
  • Assist the point of contact with the following duties:
      • Ensure employee and system FLSA records are correct.
      • Update the OMBMax dashboard.
      • Validate that standard practices are institutionalized including completion of BUS checklist as required by Instruction 511-1.
      • Provide regular progress reports to OHR.
Job Requirements
  • Provide recent classification operational services since Hiring Reform 2010 that included communications support and advice, and development of initiatives.
  • Complete work within established time-frames.
  • Three (3) years of Federal HR experience, at least two (2) of which must be specialized experience in the area in which work is to be performed; a college degree may be substituted for 1 year of non-specialized experience.
  • Proven administrative skills and experience with HR automated systems.
  • Work independently and effectively in a remote environment without face-to-face contact with customers, supervisors, and peers.
  • Must have effective communication skills (phone, email, etc.); exceptional writing skills; interact professionally with high-ranking Executives and Senior Executive Service (SES) candidates.
  • Obtain and maintain the government required background investigation.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree.
