JM Longyear, LLC is Hiring a Customer Service Representative Near Gwinn, MI

About the Role 

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for the day-to-day organization and coordination of business operation duties and Customer Care procedures. This position involves high-level contact and effective communication with internal management, outside agencies, and customers. This position requires the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment to support all facets of daily operation. Work must be performed in a timely and accurate manner, always preserving confidentiality and security of information. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.

Essential Function / Duties

  • Customer Care
    • Log and manage the quoting/proposal process and required documentation
    • Customer proposal development and support
    • Complete order entry of received orders from customers
    • Manage the Open Order process and submit relevant information to the customer
    • Assist with the product delivery process associated with customer shipments
    • Coordinate and close any invoicing and shipping discrepancies with the customer
    • Customer service and complaint handling
  • Business Operation Support
    • Manage CRM and marketing databases 
    • Support business development efforts with information gathering, spreadsheet creation, and customer communication
    • Schedule and manage logistics for in-house and off-site meetings, trade shows, customer visits, and webinars 
    • Assist with the creation and routine reporting of business development, R&D, and operational metrics
    • Assist with budgeting efforts
    • Support lean manufacturing techniques (e.g. Standard work, 5S, Production Leveling, Kanban, Kaizen, etc.
  • Other duties
    • Deliver presentations to various groups
    • Any other appropriate duties as identified by supervisor

Work Schedule / Supervision

Position: Full-time; 40 hours per week: can be substantially more: possible 5% travel with overnight stays out of town 

Position Status:Exempt Status: without compensation and without notice

Recommended Education / Experience

EducationHigh School diploma required, 2-year degree in business or related field preferred.

Experience: 5 years of experience as an Office Manager or Customer Service agent; with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint): ERP experience and written and verbal presentation skills; strong organizational and planning skills.
