About the Role :

Jim McKay Chevrolet seeks a highly motivated, experienced Used Car Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in used car sales, experience with appraisal tools, and the ability to effectively leverage reconditioning and merchandising tools.

This role requires a data-driven approach to growing the used car department and motivating the sales team to achieve outstanding results.

You'll be responsible for :

Appraisal and Pricing : Use advanced appraisal tools to evaluate trade-ins accurately and used vehicle inventory. Establish competitive pricing strategies based on market analysis and data-driven insights.

Monitor and adjust pricing to ensure alignment with current market conditions.

Merchandising : Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies to highlight the value and appeal of used car inventory.

Oversee the presentation of vehicles both online and on the lot, ensuring high-quality photos and detailed descriptions.

Use reconditioning tools to manage time to line to ensure vehicles are retail-ready within five days.

Sales Team Leadership : Motivate, train, and mentor the sales team to achieve sales targets and provide exceptional customer service.

Conduct regular sales meetings to ensure used car sales goals are consistently met. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork and professional development.

Inventory Management : Manage and optimize used car inventory levels, ensuring a balanced and profitable stock. Implement effective inventory turn strategies to minimize holding costs and maximize sales opportunities.

Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed inventory acquisitions and wholesale decisions.

Customer Relations : Ensure high customer satisfaction by maintaining solid relationships and promptly addressing issues.

Develop and implement customer retention strategies to encourage repeat business and referrals. Monitor and improve the overall customer experience in the used car department.

Reporting and Analysis : Analyze reports on sales performance, inventory levels, and market trends. Use data insights to develop strategies for improving sales and profitability.

Present findings and recommendations to senior management regularly.

Qualifications :

Proven experience as a Used Car Manager.

Strong proficiency with appraisal tools, reconditioning software, CRM, and DMS.

Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective merchandising strategies.

A Data-driven mindset with excellent analytical skills.

Exceptional leadership and motivational skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Passion and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
