Jim Burke Ford Lincoln is Hiring a Parts Manager Near Bakersfield, CA

Job Description

Jim Burke Ford Lincoln has been in business in Bakersfield since 1913 as a family-owned and operated organization. Parts is critical to our business. It is a large, high performing department with the wholesale department at its core serving the southern San Joaquin Valley.

The Parts Manager leads a team of approximately thirty employees to successfully deliver on our core objectives:

  • Build lasting relationships with team members, customers and vendors through integrity, respect, professionalism, and excellence
  • Develop innovative parts revenue streams and inventory resources
  • Create an environment of confidence and ease of doing business with the parts department
  • Strong focus on profits, maintaining gross and expense control
  • Continually monitor and respond accordingly to competitors pricing and services
  • Strong inventory management focused

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Parts Manager or Assistant Parts Manager at an Automobile Dealership or wholesale parts department (prefer experience with Ford Motor Company)
  • Working knowledge of parts operations including purchasing, inventory control and pricing 
  • Management experience of physical parts inventory and reconciliation process
  • Experience in computerized parts systems & CDK
  • Ability to effectively communicate both with written and verbal conversation
  • Good understanding of customer satisfaction systems
  • Professional appearance and work ethic
  • Great attitude with a high-energy personality
  • Superior customer service skills

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the management and daily operations of the Parts department
  • Guarantees customer satisfaction in all areas
  • Motivates and develops staff through coaching, mentoring, and training
  • Ensures stated goals are met
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies
  • Manages all required paperwork and records and prepares documentation (forms, reports, etc.) when needed
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all vehicles, accessories, and promotions
  • Locates accessories or parts and arranges for installation
  • Monitors parts inventory and maintains storage area in good condition
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Five years of progressive and relevant experience
  • Experience in supervising and managing staff
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Safety and customer service oriented
  • Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office suite
