Position Overview:

A Project Superintendent at JGM plans and safely executes work activities, while providing technical assistance to the team. You will work directly with clients, Project Managers, and the Field Operations Manager to establish a solid understanding of project strategy and specifications. The environment for this role is flexible, constantly changing, and provides growth opportunity, recognition and reward for the achievement of business results.

Principal Responsibilities:

Continually plans work so that team can safely and efficiently put high quality work in place. Oversee construction efforts to ensure project is constructed in accordance with budget, schedule, and specifications while optimization, and tracking progress of projects. Interface with clients and operations team. Coordinate and communicate details of projects, while offering guidance to team members regarding project procedures and safety requirements. Delegate responsibilities, continuously trains and develops future foreman and superintendents while providing constant constructive feedback. Manage multiple crafts foreman and disciplines. Read and interpret blueprint drawings and specifications. Projects manpower needs, maintains a rolodex of skilled craftsman, and assists and hires to meet the project needs.

Qualifications:

  • You are a true builder.
  • 10 years of experience in industrial construction, steel erection, piping, equipment setting or industrial Maintenance.
  • Oversees 3-6 Foreman with a total craft of up to 50.
  • Five years’ experience leading a team or overseeing projects in a supervisory role.
  • Skilled at interpreting specifications and technical documents, with an emphasis on blueprints and drawings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multiple crafts (ironworking, rigging, piping, and millwrighting)
  • Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing condition.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker who will establish and manage plans while building and fostering relationships.
  • Ability to generate ideas for quick response with decision-making focused on implementing practical, timely solutions.
  • Strong leadership style that is firm and goal oriented, yet motivates, trains, and engages others.
  • Outgoing, poised, and persuasive communication style
  • Ability to learn quickly and thoroughly while continually recognizing and adapting to changing conditions.
  • A sense of urgency and the confidence to handle a variety of challenges, with a full commitment to the success of the project and high standards of achievement.
  • Excel at offering quality client & team support.
  • Adaptable; thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel & Outlook)
  • OSHA 10 a requirement
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Must complete OSHA 30 upon hiring.
  • Industrial construction industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Light fabrication & mechanical experience is also a plus.
  • Knowledge of Procore is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Requires prolonged walking, standing, sitting, bending, squatting, stooping, climbing, regular lifting and carrying to move up to 50 lbs., talking, hearing, reaching, feeling, grasping, and push/pulling.
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions/temperatures.
  • Regular mental and visual attention much or all the time with manual coordination.
  • Flexibility required to travel.
