ACTIVELY HIRING: FULL-TIME ROLE

JOB SUMMARY: JFSA is actively seeking a full-time office-based Onboarding Success Specialist. This position will be responsible for serving as the liaison between the recruiters and hiring managers to provide a smooth onboarding experience for newly hired employees. The Employee Onboarding Success Specialist will help assimilate new employees into our workplace and improve employee retention within the first 90 days.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes newly hired employees and executes the engagement plan throughout the onboarding journey, managing the end-to-end onboarding process, ensuring a great experience for new employees and a smooth start into their roles.
  • Prepares and distributes onboarding information and welcome gifts.
  • Presents the HR portion of New Hire Orientations for front-line employees.
  • Conducts interviews as needed, helps in determining if candidates are a fit for JFSA, and matches qualified candidates to available opportunities. Includes assessing fit with existing staff at specific sites, matching candidates to open shifts identified by service lines, etc.
  • Assists in coordinating and attending in-person and virtual career fairs.
  • Works with new hires to complete the onboarding process and collect all necessary documents prior to hiring.
  • Serves as one of the liaisons with The Centers El Barrio Employee Retention Support program.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for hiring managers and newly hired employees.
  • Introduces new hires to their team members.
  • Coordinates new hire on-the-job training and scheduling with the manager and other key stakeholders.
  • Interviews caregiver candidates to the extent possible (e.g., one-on-one or in groups)
  • Helps to figure out the right fit for caregiver candidates who may be open to multiple roles based on key factors.
  • Serves as a liaison between HR and service lines to get caregivers into specific “packages” (site & shift assignments).
  • Gather data on the candidates’ experience with the recruitment process and ensure sensitive and confidential information is updated in the company’s internal database.
  • Ensures new hires understand Agency and departmental policies.
  • Ensure new hires know how to log into the HRIS system to view paychecks, update personal information, and receive email communications.
  • Ensures new hires know their schedule, work location, and have their supervisor and team member's contact information.
  • Develops and maintains applicant tracking systems that measure 90-day retention statistics.
  • Visits new hires at their worksite within the first 90 days (unless restricted by public emergency).
  • Reviews scheduled and worked hours data along with direct new hire feedback to anticipate and proactively address any potential issues. Helps candidates seek other placements within the Agency if and initial assignment is not the right fit.
  • Introduced to new hires at New Hire Orientation and checks in daily throughout new hire orientation.
  • Maintains regular communication with new hires throughout the first 90 days of employment.
  • Utilizes internal feedback to develop creative and innovative retention strategies. Integrates information from retention to provide feedback for continuously improving recruiting and hiring process.
  • Where possible, conducts exit interviews to determine reasons for departure.
  • Demonstrates awareness of, follows all safety policies and procedures, and adheres to all recommended safe work practices. Also contributes to the control of hazards in specified areas of responsibility.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 years of experience with recruitment, new hire retention, and/or onboarding.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, general business, or a related field is preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License, Auto Insurance, and Reliable Transportation

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word as well as video conferencing.
  • High degree of confidentiality.
  • Experience working with recruiting websites and applicant tracking systems.
  • Ability to present material in front of groups of people.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees comfortably and professionally, from entry-level to upper-level management.
