DETAILS

General Responsibilities

The Associate Director, Bronx Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Older Adult Services, will have primary responsibility to provide service delivery and administrative oversight of JASA’s OMH Bronx ACT Team with established policies, standards and procedures to the satisfaction of the Board of Directors and JASA Senior Leadership and within the guidelines of the funding sources. The Associate Director of Bronx ACT assumes complete responsibility for carrying out the policies and regulations within the guidelines of the funding source; including OMH, Medicaid/Medicare, private insurance plans, and other funding sources.

Primary Responsibilities

  • To oversee all administrative functions as mandated by OMH, Medicaid, the court, and JASA, including but not limited to:
  • Maintain Standards of Care consistent with OMH and Medicaid regulations
  • Maintain levels of service consistent with OMH and JASA expectations
  • Oversee billing/budget processes using JASA’s Electronic Health Record in coordination with JASA’s Finance and IT Departments
  • Implement ongoing utilization review procedures.
  • Track and maintain productivity
  • Assess need for and implement quality assurance projects.
  • Coordinate and lead Consumer Advisory Committee
  • Coordinate and lead the ACT Incident Review Committee
  • Provide direct ACT services to JASA Bronx ACT assigned clients; including but not limited to the delivery of ACT core services and crisis intervention
  • Coordinate and facilitate daily ACT Team staff meetings
  • Oversee the scheduling and supervision of 24 hour crisis coverage
  • To assure staff supervisory procedures are in place and followed
  • Direct supervision of all JASA Bronx ACT program staff
  • Close monitoring and supervision of all JASA Bronx ACT clients for emergency and safety planning
  • Develop and maintain oversight of all elevated risk ACT clients; provide daily updates to the Senior Director Mental Health of all high risk situations
  • To represent the agency at community conferences and meetings
  • Plans, organizes and directs implementation, supervision, coordination of overall administration of ACT program operations and reviews the work of staff
  • Assesses all problem areas with or without the aid of staff, and makes recommendations for corrective action and writes reports on findings and progress
  • Communicates policies and objectives to subordinates and gives general direction and procedures to carry out policies and achieve objectives
  • Interviews and recommends suitable persons to hire
  • Attends meetings (internal and external) on matters relating to JASA ACT services
  • Ensures that all reports, statistical records, and records required by governmental agencies are maintained
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation of the program and services delivered by volunteers, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary
  • Participate as an active member of JASA Services Leadership Team
  • Additional responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited college or university with a Masters of Social Work or equivalent level degree in counseling, gerontology, psychology or a related field.
  • New York State Clinical License in Social Work preferred; NYS License in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in program supervision and/or program management: experience providing ACT services and/or mental health/substance abuse treatment preferred.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to provide professional supervision and leadership to social work, accounting, and support staff.
  • Excellent writing/record keeping skills.
  • Understanding and appreciation of the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, and individual values as they relate to serving clients and families.
  • Computer-literacy, with ability to learn program-specific software. Should be conversant with current MicroSoft and Google applications.
  • Professional maturity, good judgment and ability to motivate others in a similar way
  • Strong commitment to JASA’s mission
  • Ability to travel using mass transit
