Job Summary
Provides maximum protection for the safety and security of university and hospital personnel, patients, students, visitors and Jefferson assets. Performs security duties either at a fixed post, or on patrol or while making rounds of buildings and grounds. Responses to calls for service. Checks for unauthorized persons, general security violations and fire or safety hazards. Capable of being assigned to any fixed post or patrol duties in any environment, and on any shift. Assists patients/visitors/students by giving directions or information when requested

AND
Experience:
Prior security, police or military experience is preferred. Experience in campus/hospital security, law enforcement, or other related Criminal Justice agencies strongly preferred.
Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:
PA only: Valid ACT 235 Certification required within 90 days of hire. Valid driver’s License required to work at certain Jefferson locations.
Additional Information
Must be able to understand all responsibilities and technology associated with the 24-hour Security Response Center (SRC). Must have completed all relevant Security Department training modules, and maintain all required training. Ability to function effectively with Microsoft desktop applications (i.e. Word, E-mail). Ability to work all shifts, and rotate between shifts as needed. This is a highly visible uniform position. Officers must be able to present excellent appearance at all times and also be equipped with all required security instruments.
Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily.
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson’s clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
