PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for the timely and accurate data entry of day to day charges and patient registration information into Epic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Enters registration updates and charges into Epic
• Regularly uses websites to verify patient eligibility.
• Remains current on payer plan changes and updates as well as websites used to verify patient eligibility.
• Reviews/resolves rejected claims or problems with third party billing including rejection/edit workques.
• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience as a patient registrar and charge entry preferred.
• Three- five years experience with insurance billing, claims, collections and/or reimbursement for physician services preferred.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Experience in Epic billing system highly desirable.
