POSITION SUMMARY

The Consolidation Manager is based in New York and will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Jean-Georges Management and be responsible for the overall enterprise consolidation process, including the review of inter-company transactions, profit eliminations and corporate consolidations accounting. This position will have ownership of the consolidated trial balance, and production of period financial reporting, including internal and external statements.

The Consolidation Manager will ensure proper accounting for the Company’s corporate level transactions, such as corporate allocations, accrual calculations, journal entries, and reconciliations. The Consolidation Manager will coordinate, manage and support monthly consolidation close activities for timeliness, accuracy, and completeness. This position partners with the corporate accounting and FP&A teams, as well as the business units to support the consolidations and internal/external review and reporting processes.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the consolidated financial closing.
  • Responsible for important close-related tasks including preparing and reviewing consolidation journal entries and maintaining internal controls in a 70 legal entity consolidation.
  • Maintain the accuracy of Intercompany and related party balances. Manage Intercompany reconciliations and work with Intercompany owners to resolve out of balance accounts.
  • Preparation of month-end and year-end consolidated financial statements, including cash flow statements (internal and external reporting).
  • Support the analytical review of the monthly consolidated financials with FP&A, corporate controller and operators.
  • Support the year-end close process with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Work with audit functions to develop and improve internal policies to ensure compliance with SOX framework.
  • Review and update the global chart of accounts and manage the proper rollup to the consolidated trial balance.
  • Participate in the systems implementation of a new ERP and secondary reporting platforms for both the business and accounting functions.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects including IT enhancements for the financial and management reporting processes, analysis of business operations, proposed accounting treatment of unusual transactions or other accounting and finance related matters.
  • Assist the CFO with various ad hoc projects, analyses, and process improvements.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor or Master degree in accounting required, CPA strongly desired.
  • 2 years of public accounting experience and 4 years industry accounting experience required.
  • Experience working for a multi-unit, multi-concept company with corporate accounting and consolidation teams.
  • Strong technical accounting skills including comprehensive knowledge of GAAP.
  • Proven ability to handle all aspects of journal entry processing, accounting for intercompany transactions, and implementing/maintaining internal controls as well as SOX compliance.
  • Experience with management reporting and the performance of analytical reviews of financial statements.
  • A foundational knowledge of the hospitality or restaurant industry and operations strongly preferred.
  • Advanced, Excel (ability to perform Pivots, V-lookups and other functions with Excel).
  • Prior experience with implementation and/or use of ERP systems, such as Workday or Microsoft Dynamics a plus.
  • Ability to work as a team player with a high level of initiative, self-motivation, and confidence.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication, teamwork orientation and diplomacy.
  • Possess an ownership mentality, with the willingness to roll-up the sleeves and do whatever is necessary to meet team goals.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize work.
  • Experience with BI Reporting and/or building dashboards is a plus.
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively up and down organizational structures, from line-level associates, to peers, to executives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs at times.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Climbing steps regularly
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this position is $110,000-$125,000 per year. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
