EHS Supervisor Location: Janesville, WI How You Will Make an Impact? The Plant EHS Supervisor will support a Morgan Truck Body plant to ensure safe working conditions for all team members. The position is responsible for engaging on all plant level EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety) activities including coordination of coverage for EHS leads or coordinators in addition to overseeing the plant Safety Committee. The Plant EHS Supervisor will be empowered to eliminate accidents, injuries, and property loss through effective problem solving and management of countermeasures because of near miss or incident investigations. This role will continuously communicate a positive message and a course of action to be taken among the production space through BBSO and GEMBA process along with all other methods of engagement. The Nuts and BoltsSupport local health and safety processes within plant, including JHA, PPE and assessments, behavioral based safety observations and ergonomics.Oversees and directs shift safety coordinators, ERT/First Responder Team, Haz Response Teams, and Safety Committee.Support local regulatory compliance to include, but not limited to: SWPPP, SPCC, EPCRA, and RCRA.Maintain policy and standards and ensure all team members are appropriately informedSupport the preparation of recommendations for corrective actions to eliminate or minimize potential or existing risks and hazardsMeasure and evaluate the effectiveness of hazard management systems, policies, and procedures with recommended changes that reflect opportunities to eliminate workplace injuriesSupport the site in investigating, analyzing and reviewing near-misses and accidents to ensure proper corrective and preventative measures have been implementedSupport site in the review of injury and property damage reports, and in compliance of worker’s compensation regulationsCompile, analyze, and communicate metrics and KPIs via monthly, quarterly, and annual reportingDevelop education and training classes. Introduce and support EHS site in the delivery of new topics and refresher classesConduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practicesStudy ergonomic issues and recommend corrective actionsOther duties as assigned Required CredentialsBachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety and Health or Environmental work or current enrollment in such program 3-5 years of hands-on professional health, safety, and environmental experience in manufacturing environmentCertification/Licensure(s) – OSHA 511 or OSHA 501 Outreach Trainer may be substituted for degree qualification if courses are completed within the last 3 years.Working knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations at local, state, and federal levelsProven ability to be proactive and to facilitate change through education and training Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral and ability to communicate with all levels of the organizationProblem analysis and problem resolution with an understanding of root cause investigative process Strong time management and prioritization skills needed to support multiple locations Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook 365 You Must Be Able to Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or Lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, computer printouts on occasion. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection.
