JAQUITH INDUSTRIES INC is Hiring a Sales Manager Near Syracuse, NY

Description

The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans to achieve company targets and expand our customer base. This role requires a results-oriented individual with strong leadership skills, a proven track record in sales management, and the ability to motivate and inspire others. Will supervise a sales team in day-to-day operations; back up and assist the Executive Vice President in daily activities and/or customer-related activities.

  • Supervise, coordinate and provide direction to assigned sales staff which includes order entry, customer service, technical personnel for Airport, LIR, FAM, and BMF product lines. Keep supervisor informed of sales activity and performance of staff.
  • Prepare departmental reports.
  • Assist Executive Vice President with preparation of sales quotes, budgets and sales forecasts.
  • Track future and end-user jobs and keep the appropriate people informed.
  • Recommend pricing and pricing strategy for product areas, recommending deviations when required.
  • Research and recommend advertising and sales promotion programs
  • Responsible for updating of catalogs, manuals, technical papers, and other literature as required.
  • Responsible for arrangements for the Company at trade shows, and represent the Company as required.
  • Travel as required to provide technical expertise, investigate complaints, develop and maintain customer relations, and/or secure new customers.
  • Participate in the interviewing process for personnel in the Sales Department.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all Company procedures are observed and enforced in the Sales Department and that supervised personnel maintain safe work practices.
  • Responsible to ensure that assigned sales staff obtain adequate training and upgrading.
  • Prepare and execute performance appraisals for employees under direct supervision according to Company procedures. Communicate and discuss with employees and recommend corrective action as appropriate.
  • Responsible for safety and housekeeping programs to ensure that they are observed and enforced. Immediately take appropriate action to eliminate unsafety conditions and notify the Safety Director of the unsafe conditions in order to take action.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 year degree in Engineering, Sales, or related field required
  • Must have 5-7 years of sales leadership experience
  • Must have ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Posess and demonstrate positive mentoring and leadership qualities. 
  • Posess and practice superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.
  • Possess and utilize basic math skills and exercise superior organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Maintain and exhibit a positive attitude toward our work and our work environment.

MENTAL AND VISUAL DEMAND:

Close mental and visual attention to prepare and analyze data and figures, work on a computer, read, or control machines or processes at a rapid pace that requires close coordination and fine adjustment. Moderate mental and visual attention to direct manual work, machine operations, set-ups, inspections, and adjustments that require frequent decisions to detect and adjust for variance from proper operation.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Occupational Hazards – Work in an office environment where there is little exposure to changing temperatures, hazardous chemicals of moving parts.

Safety Equipment - May wear a variety of PPE when visiting the production floor, including safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes and other PPE in accordance with work tasks. 

Production Environment – May visit the manufacturing environmental where the employee may encounter directly or indirectly, a variety of production machinery, transport equipment, welding work, and computerized equipment. During hot weather, work processes can produce condensation on the floor resulting in slippery conditions. Employees are required to wear steel toed, slip resistant shoes while working in production areas.
