Jana Marie Foundation is Hiring an Education Program Specialist Near State College, PA

Position Title: Education Program Specialist
Full time position

Reports to: Programs Manager
Salary-exempt position. Monday-Friday, may include night and weekend hours

Position Purpose:

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Specialist is responsible for the planning, development, facilitation, implementation, and evaluation of a variety of educational programs for young people. This position also focuses on initiatives to increase and enhance the engagement of young people as we work to break down barriers around mental health.
The Education Program Specialist job may include developing curricula, writing lesson plans, developing broad range programs to meet the needs of diverse populations, delivering evidence-based curricula, and tracking program attendance and other key data points. Other key duties may include assisting with fundraising, marketing, securing community partners, and outreach.

Essential Functions:

1. Develop, implement, and deliver programs to young people (upper elementary – College-age) that focuses on mental health and well-being. This includes delivery of evidence-based programs.

2. Assist with curricula and lesson plan development.
3. Coordinate all aspects of select programs, including location, timing, and activities.
4. Establish and continue to build partnerships and meaningful relationships with related organizations, agencies, schools, and individuals throughout Central PA.
5. Effectively communicate and build partnerships with schools to implement innovative programs that focus on mental health and wellness and creating environments full of appreciation, understanding, and acceptance of all.
6. Work with Jana Marie Foundation team to brainstorm and implement new ideas to build connections and hope within our community.
7. Attend committee meetings and community engagement meetings, as assigned.
8. Attend weekly staff check-in meetings.
9. Assist with special event programs, such as Stompers Project, Annual Dinner, Outdoor Strong, Mental Health Awareness Month, and Suicide Prevention Month, and more.
10. Utilize systems of evaluations for events and programing.
11. Be an advocate and spokesperson for Jana Marie Foundation
12. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The Education Program Specialist will be thoroughly committed to Jana Marie Foundation’s mission. Concrete demonstrable experience and other qualifications include:

1. A minimum of a bachelor degree or equivalent.
2. Three years in program implementation or related experience.
3. Background checks, including state, federal, and child abuse.
4. Excellence in organizational abilities including planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation.
5. Ability to convey a vision of Jana Marie Foundation’s mission
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
7. Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning
8. Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
