- GENERAL SUMMARY:. This is a seasonal responsible for carrying out the daily operation plan of the Borough’s Summer Recreation Program, ensuring the safety of children as they engage in camp activities Summer Recreation Program runs Monday- Thursday from 9 am to 12 noon starting June 24th.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Assists in providing high-quality educational and recreational opportunities for camp participants.

2. Leads and supports campers as they participate in all activities related to camp.

3. Collaborates with other camp counselors to plan and coordinate camp activities.

4. Supervises campers and ensures their safety and general well-being.

5. Maintains the schedule for camp participants.

6. Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.

7. Mediates any camper’s disputes.

8. Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Experience in planning and leading camp programs and activities.

2. Enrollment in high school or college/university.

3. Valid CPR, First Aid and AED certifications or willingness to receive certifications.

4. Valid clearances including background check and child abuse checks.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

1. Ability to plan, oversee daily activities.

2. Ability to perform daily summer camp tasks

3. Ability to handle emergency situations

4. Excellent communications skills.

5. Ability to ensure safe work environment.

6. Ability to resolve conflicts.

7. Knowledge of activity-related safety regulations, as well as heath and sanitation requirements

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
