Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We are currently seeking experienced Security Officers for the immediatefull-time day, evening, and night shifts.

Under the direction of the Security Director, selected Security Officers will perform a variety of security and safety-related functions while involved in the safeguard of employees, patients, visitors, and property as outlined in the JHMC policy manual.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintaining a safe environment for hospital patients, staff, and visitors
• Actively monitoring and surveilling persons entering hospital facilities and controlling access to sensitive areas.
• Assisting management in enforcing safety regulations.
• Maintaining visit front desk sign-in roster.
• Documenting and maintaining incident log reports
• Utilizing verbal techniques to deescalate crisis situations.
• Conducting building and grounds surveillance activities to detect and report safety violations.
• Enforcing access control policy.

FOR IMMEDIATE CONSIDERATION,

• Must High School degree or General Equivalency Diploma
• Clean valid NY State Driver’s license
• · 8 and 16 hr. certifications, fireguard certification within 6 months of hire.
• · Excellent communication and people skills required.
• · Must be able to work any shift at any time when asked.

SALARY: $25/hr.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
