Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is Hiring a Medical Assistant Near Richmond, NY

PATIENT ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE

DEPARTMENT: OUTPATIENT AMBULATORY CARE 37.5 HRS. PER WEEK

The Department of Ambulatory Care at Jamaica Hospital provides patients with a wide array of primary and specialty care in an outpatient setting. The department operates a main on-campus center and 9 other locations conveniently located throughout Queens and East New York. Our modern fully equipped medical facilities provide a full and comprehensive range of services for children and adults. We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach in providing the highest levels of professional, compassionate care to the many culturally diverse, underserved patients and residents we serve. We are currently seeking experienced compassionate Patient Access Representatives for immediate full time day shift opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for conducting screening and intake procedures with patients and their caregivers.
  • Performing but not limited to other tasks such as phlebotomy, EKGs, etc.
  • Greeting patients and their caregivers on arrival.
  • Utilizing PC terminal and software programs to input, update and retrieve patient data and records.
  • Communicating and relaying pertinent information to appropriate office staff.
  • Advising and assisting patients and caregivers with information regarding office procedures, policies, and protocols.
  • Addressing patient inquires, concerns, and complaints.
  • Performing general administrative duties as needed.

REQUIREMENT

  • Must have Medical Assistant Certificate & BLS Certification from (American Heart Association).
  • EKG and Phlebotomy certification required
  • 1-2 years previous experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail.
  • HS diploma required.
  • Medical Terminology required. Bilingual a plus.
  • Must be able to work one weekend day every other weekend.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $25.49 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
