Jacksonville Classical Academy is Hiring a Physical Education Teacher Near Jacksonville, FL

Job Description – Physical Education Teacher

The Physical Education (PE) Teacher position is a salaried, exempt position with a 10-month work schedule. Salary will be set annually on a performance-based schedule. This position will report to the Principal.

Overall Responsibilities

The Physical Education (PE) Teacher is responsible for developing lesson plans in keeping with the State of Florida's Physical Education guidelines, delivering instruction (individualized, small and whole group), evaluating student's progress, and effectively managing the class environment. The PE Teacher will keep accurate records of student progress, conduct informal assessments of students enrolled in the P.E. program, and complete progress reports.

Leadership

  • Maintain a high personal standard consistent with the school’s Core Virtues, vision, mission and motto.
  • Support the vision, policies, financial objectives and directives of the governing board.
  • Support a positive school culture based on mutual respect and shared expectations.
  • Regularly meet with the board chairman, Head of School, and Operations Manager to coordinate school activities and discuss outcomes and issues to ensure the long-term school success.
  • Be willing to assist others as needed.

Qualifications

  • The minimum educational requirement for this job is a college degree.
  • Teaching Certification (Preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other industry-specific technology.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and problem solve in a fast-paced environment is critical to the success in this position.
