Role:Bus person ensures that all dining room tables are set and maintained though out their assigned shift. The bus person attends to guest’s needs such as water, coffee, tea, or soft drinks, bus person works directly with food servers covering stations and assisting as needed in their duties.; and to perform job responsibilities satisfactorily and to according to department standards. Adheres to all Company, Safety and Department policies and procedures. Fosters team work and provides excellent guest service, anticipates guest needs to exceed guest expectations. Builds brand loyalty by living the JW Marriott Core Values.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 18 years of age, 1- year of hotel/restaurant busser experience, Must posses a positive attitude and work well with others team members.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATE/LICENSE: Must have Valid Clark County Health Card.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES: Duties include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Organizes, cleans and maintains beverage station, side stations and proper storage areas and all supplies that support daily duties. 
  • Maintain guest focus while performing duties
  • Able to properly re-set all tables as soon as possible according to department standards.
  • Carry trays, dishes, flatware, glassware, tablecloths and napkins to kitchen area, break down.
  • Properly store soiled linen and dirty dishware in proper storage racks and or bins in the kitchen
  • Deposit all trash and scrap food into garbage/ trash cans in kitchen area.
  • Able to restock restaurant areas with linen, dishes and silverware. 
  • Clean and check floor area for food under tables in Restaurant
  • Follow direction and ask questions for clarifications
  • Side work /Restocks Supplies / Replenish service area as needed to service the guest though out work shift
  • Associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
  • Must be neat, clean and well groomed

Work is performed in a (type of location, i.e. office, kitchen, restaurant, pool, casino, etc) environment and in other locations throughout the property. Must be tolerant to varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. Must be able to work in an outdoor environment, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases to loud. A casino environment typically allows smoking.

  • Interacts with management, applicants, fellow Associates and/or guests.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and coworkers
  • Requires prolonged standing and mobility.
  • Requires bending and reaching. 
  • Requires transporting, pushing, pulling, and maneuvering items weighing up to 125 lbs.
  • Requires lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking (5- Hours or more) 
  • Requires eye/hand coordination.
  • Requires use of standard office equipment.
  • Requires basic math.
  • Requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Ability to and comply with Policies and Procedures, Job Description, daily memorandums, chemical labels (MSDS) and other instructions. 
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals
