Description of Tasks and Responsibilities:

The Warehouse Material Handler, reporting to the Warehouse Manager, is directly responsible for providing warehouse and material handling support :

Safely loads, unloads, and transfers products to designated areas .

Inspects product for part number and description deficiencies or damages prior to receiving and shipping. Recording all product discrepancies appropriately and notifying the appropriate people of any issues.

Maneuvers materials with the use of forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required.

Unload and loads shipping trucks as required.

Operates tape machine and tape gun to seal boxes. Uses basic tools, pneumatic drills, and banding tools for palletized shipments.

Secures product to shipping skids and builds protective crates as required.

Appropriately packages shipments to prevent damage,

Uses computer to process shipping and receiving transactions.

Pulls and stages materials for shop orders.

Maintains a neat and orderly workplace to include sweeping, compacting cardboard, moving pallets, and disposing of debris by following lean principles of 5S.

Completes assigned jobs accurately in a safe and timely manner in accordance with work order instructions,

Contributes to the orderly operation of inventory and/or materials storage areas.

13. Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.

Participates in additional activities contributing to the overall goals of the company as the opportunities arise.

Description of other duties that may be assigned:

The Warehouse Material Handler will assist the production team with assembly, painting and/or other miscellaneous support tasks on a rotating basis or when additional help is requested. The Warehouse Material Handler will also assist with general building and grounds maintenance, as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus 3-5 years of warehouse experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer and keyboard proficiency.

Certificates and Licenses:

Forklift and crane certification will be trained onsite.

Equipment:

· Basic hand tools

· Metal and plastic banding system for securing pallet loads

· Forklift

· Supplied air respirator

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write emails and correspondence.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Warehouse and material handling experience in the fluid power industry and/or manufacturing setting. FedEx and UPS software experience. LTL and BOL experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand for long hours at a time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to see color.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee primarily works in the warehouse, but is occasionally subjected to outdoor weather conditions; bee stings; sharp packaging material; cuts to the skin; works near moving mechanical parts; works in high, precarious places; and can be exposed to common industrial fumes or chemicals, paint fumes and/or airborne particles.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment is required, such as safety glasses with side shields and steel toe shoes.
