Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at a leading electrical subcontractor based in Boston. The Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health and safety programs to ensure the well-being of our employees and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and risks associated with electrical/construction work and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Stay current on all applicable regulations, codes, and standards related to electrical safety, including OSHA, NFPA, and NEC requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, foremen, and field personnel to ensure that safety considerations are integrated into project plans and work practices.
  • Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments for electrical work activities, and develop control measures to mitigate identified risks.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses involving electrical hazards, and develop preventive measures to minimize the risk of recurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions taken.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from employees, subcontractors, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Participate in pre-construction planning meetings to review project plans, specifications, and safety requirements specific to electrical installations.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability throughout the organization, including regular communication of safety updates, initiatives, and successes.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs through regular audits, assessments, and performance metrics.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in health and safety management, with specific experience in electrical subcontracting or construction preferred, but not required.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical safety regulations, standards, and best practices, including OSHA, NFPA 70E, and NEC requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate electrical hazards in a variety of work environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
  • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations in an electrical construction environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Flexibility to travel to various job sites within the Boston metropolitan area as needed.
