Location: Dedham, MA
Job Type: Full-time position

Description:
J & M Brown Company, Inc. is currently seeking an electrical estimator to join our Electrical Construction company. This full-time position will be located in our Dedham office with most site-walk thrus in the greater Boston/Cambridge area.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience with electrical estimating
  • Local candidates only

Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:

  • Read & understand engineered drawing & electrical schematics
  • Utilize estimating software (Accubid)
  • Develop electrical takeoffs and estimates for commercial & residential projects
  • Takeoff drawings by counting, highlighting and measuring materials
  • Calculating the cost for materials and labor to be used for bid
  • Inputting data into Excel and Accubid
  • Explaining the job drawings to management
  • Communicating with clients on RFIs and other questions during the bidding process

Requirements:
Have a strong ability to grasp electrical construction techniques and improve knowledge through independent curiosity and interaction with team members.

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or electrical engineering, or equivalent field experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in assembling and closing electrical construction estimates (including commercial fit-out and ground up projects).
  • 2 years experience with Accubid Pro & Change Pro estimating software.
  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of the electrical field and familiarity in materials and construction methods.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated.
