Mia Products, a division of J & J Snack Foods Inc. manufactures and distributes frozen novelties to the food service and retail supermarket industries. We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor for Day shift in our Moosic, PA Facility. Must be flexible to work some weekends. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITILITIES:
This position will supervise the activities of production personnel engaged in all facets of the manufacturing function. Will also maintain open lines of communication regarding problems, break downs and anything that may affect schedule reliability.
- Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching and counseling, and disciplining employees; enforcing company’s policies and procedures.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel on one or more production lines.
- Provides manufacturing information by daily inspection of machinery for safety and production results.
- Maintain production and waste records.
- Maintains workflow by monitoring daily staffing and supervision of employees to ensure that a quality product is produced in an efficient manner.
- Resolves issues with personnel through investigating, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
- Review productions practices and methods to ensure that product is produced in the most efficient and cost saving manner.
- Work with other department staff and management to maintain a cohesive working relationship.
- Maintain employee schedules.
- Any other duties assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree or minimum 4 years related work experience in a leading role.
- Proven analytical and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results & achieve budget.
- Working knowledge of OSHA Safety Rules & Regulations, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA and EPA regulations. SAFETY rules and willing to follow all Safety procedures.
- Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills required combined with an aptitude for multi-tasking.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows-based computer applications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/FACTORS:
- Ability to lift more than 50 pounds.
- Sit and stand for long periods of time.
- Fast paced, noisy environment.
