J.F. Shea Family of Companies is Hiring a Land Development Manager Near Culpeper, VA

The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. They are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities

Job Description

This position is reports directly to the Project Manager.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only a limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, oral, diagram or schedule form etc.

Professional Skills

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • 3 years of prior industry and land development experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Project

Specific Job Requirements

  • Responsible for HOA and City acceptance
  • Supervise and coordinate all outside contractors involved in the building of the infrastructure to include mass grading, sanitary sewer, storm drains, water lines, paving and streetlights
  • Supervise Erosion Control Compliance (SWPPP)
  • Work closely with City and County Government Officials
  • Update and keep Current project Schedules
  • Assist with and become knowledgeable with Land budgets and Cash flows
  • Assist with bond reductions and release.
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of offsite contracts and change orders.
  • Assist with the coordination of civil, soils, landscape, environmental consultants and Engineers
  • Other duties and projects as may be assigned.

Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals or substances; outside weather conditions; extreme cold / heat; risk of electric shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
