ISYS Technologies is seeking an Information Assurance Specialist to provide technical expertise and support to our customer during a multi-year program which will provide on-site technical support services for the customers organizational structure and other elements to support rotational inbound personnel as well as system related projects. Projects may include but are not limited to office moves, to include desk to desk switches, interaction and interfaces with current IT service provider, facilities, graphics, as well as system operations, assessments, integrations, and planning. The Information Assurance is responsible to ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of identified mission supporting information systems and applications, their networks, data and tools. This position will be on-site in Washington, D.C. and will require an active clearance level of Top Secret/SCI. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Establishes and satisfies complex system-wide information security requirements based upon the analysis of user, policy, regulatory, and resource demands
  • Plans, analyzes, develops, implements, maintains, and enhances the programs, policies, procedures, and tools necessary to provide information assurance in both the unclassified and classified environments, and ensure the operational availability of all systems
  • Coordinates with the Designated Approval Authority to maintain each system’s Authority to Operate (ATO) in accordance with DoDI 8510.01
  • Ensures compliance with all other applicable Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Information Services Agency (DISA), U.S. Cyber Command, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and JS guidance
  • Maintains an in depth understanding of the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Information Assurance Work Force standards (IAWF), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG), and continuous monitoring standards from NIST SP-800
  • Documents and mitigates deviations from policy
  • Develop certification and accreditation packages in accordance with customer policies
  • Complete security reviews as often as required to maintain a valid ATO for all company mission supporting systems
  • Performs vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle
  • Analyzes general information assurance-related technical problems and provides basic engineering and technical support in solving these problems
  • Provides support for data recovery operations

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Will have a BA or BS degree within computer science, information system, a physical science, engineering or a mathematics-intensive discipline, plus five (5) years of information security or information assurance experience; OR AS degree within computer science, information system, a physical science, engineering or a mathematicsintensive discipline, plus ten (10) years task related experience
  • Possess strong organizational and coordination skills with excellent communication both oral and written
  • Strong interpersonnel skills and ability to collaborate with a variety level of personnel from entry level to executive
  • Proficient within system analysis to include vulnerability and risk analysis during all phases of system development and lifecycle; ability to analyze user, policy, regulatory and resource demands
  • Ability to ensure systems are available and operational
  • Excellent documentation practices to include planning, design, development, and policy deviation mitigation
  • Proficient in general information assurance related technical issues and engineering practices for resolution
  • Knowledgeable in data recovery practices and ability to provide support
  • Certified in compliance as an IAM Level III

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit, walk, stand and climb stairs and steps. May require walking long distance from parking to work station. Occasionally, movement that requires twisting at the neck and/or trunk more than the average person, squatting/ stooping/kneeling, reaching above the head, and forward motion will be required. The employee will continuously be required to repeat the same hand, arm, or finger motion many times. Manual and finger dexterity are essential to this position. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, depth perception and telling differences among colors. The employee must be able to communicate through speech with clients and public. Hearing requirements include conversation in both quiet and noisy environments. Lifting may require floor to waist, waist to shoulder, or shoulder to overhead movement of up to 20 pounds. This position demands tolerance for various levels of mental stress.
