Island Pacific Academy is Hiring an Elementary School Counselor Near Kapolei, HI

Elementary School Counselor (POSTED 04/03/23)

ISLAND PACIFIC ACADEMY is currently accepting resumes for an Elementary (K-5) School Counselor position for the 2023-24 school year. The ideal candidate will have experience or knowledge in developing a comprehensive school counseling program, elementary school counseling experience, be fully supportive of the school’s mission and expected to be an active participant on the elementary team and the greater life of the school.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Working with students, teachers and families to meet the students’ behavior/social emotional/academic needs.
  • Developing, maintaining and following up with Student Support Plans, including necessary meetings and documentation.
  • One on one and small groups work with students to support social/emotional development.
  • Using student data and other assessment results to support students and faculty members of these students.
  • Collaborating with parents, teachers, administration and community resources to support students.
  • Designing and delivering a developmentally appropriate school counseling curriculum to include lessons in academic success and personal/social/emotional growth and understanding.
  • Being a resource for faculty and parents.
  • Collaborating with school administration and faculty to best support all students’ needs.

Ideal candidate qualifications include:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in school counseling from an accredited college or university
  • At least 2 years of school counseling experience.
  • A willingness to be an active and participating member of an innovative and caring group of professional educators.
  • Knowledge of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) mindsets and behaviors is a plus.
