POSITION SUMMARY:

Island Pacific Academy seeks an enthusiastic Secondary English and Humanities Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. The successful candidate will be deeply committed to our school’s vision, mission, and core values, and will play a pivotal role in cultivating academic excellence, personal growth among our students, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment that aligns with IPA’s core values.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement dynamic curriculum for secondary English and humanities courses, including Creative Writing, AP Literature & Composition, English 12, and US History.
  • Employ innovative instructional strategies to engage students and promote critical thinking, creativity, and inquiry.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that celebrates diversity, fosters collaboration, and encourages mutual respect.
  • Integrate IPA’s core values into daily instruction, emphasizing kindness, generosity, growth mindset, excellence, and ingenuity.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support continuous growth and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Actively participate in professional development activities to refine teaching practice and stay abreast of best practices in education.
  • Maintain open and proactive communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success and well-being.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Humanities, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching credential or certification.
  • Previous teaching experience at the secondary level, preferably in English and humanities courses.
  • Demonstrated commitment to IPA’s vision, mission, and core values
    Strong understanding of curriculum design, instructional methodologies, and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and growth-oriented mindset.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.

SALARY REQUIREMENTS:

  • $45,000 to $90,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications
