ISLA is Hiring a Lead Bartender Near New York, NY
Parched Hospitality Group Inc is seeking an experienced Lead Bartender to join our team at Isla & Co. Midtown (25 W 38th St. NYC). Our Front of House staff exemplify the highest standards in integrity and are committed to providing first class service to our guests. Isla & Co. is an upscale, Australian inspired café serving specialty coffee and brunch dishes by day and a seasonally crafted cocktail and dinner program by night. We are looking for a knowledgeable and creative Lead Bartender to work with our team, assist our General Manager with administrative duties (think: taking inventory, placing orders, setting standards, etc) and set an example when delivering exceptional service to all of our guests.
ISLA & CO. is currently seeking a Lead Bartender that has:
- A sparkling personality and absolute passion for guest service
- A positive attitude and has a natural ability to work as a team
- Ability to work 6-10 hour shifts including weekends
- Ability to lift 10-15 lbs as needed and spend long periods of time (5-8 hours) standing
- 6 years bar experience in elevated, high-volume environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of classic cocktails, mixology, and all major spirit categories
- Basic understanding of wine styles and grape varieties
- Ability to multi-task and manage various responsibilities; including but not limited to bar preparation, mixing cocktails, serving beverages, taking orders and supporting the service floor when needed
- Ability to ensure that opening/closing checklist is completed and that the restaurant is prepared for opening/closing
- Experience taking alcohol inventory, placing orders, reviewing deliveries, training fellow team members behind the bar, closing down the bar, and setting/upholding standards of cleanliness
- Attention to detail and foresight to maintain/order new bar equipment as needed
- Creative drive to collaborate with the General Manager on drink specials, special events, etc.
