Responsibilities

Job Description:

As the Lead Software Developer you will create modern web-based and desktop applications designed to enhance user interface with tools and capabilities created by the IDST. Translate projects created by Data Analysts and Data Scientists into modern user facing applications. Executes AGILE development using CI/CD tools to ensure expedited delivery of analytical tool to users.

Job Duties Include (but not limited to):

• Design, prototype, develop, and implement user-friendly applications using web-based and desktop frameworks
• Collaborate with other IDST members to create, troubleshoot, and improve user interface capabilities
• Collaborate with other IDST members and customers to achieve application optimization and enhance user experience
• Create visualizations and tools to allow users to leverage AI/ML, complex algorithms, and advanced analytics through intuitive interfaces
• The candidate will possess advanced analytical knowledge of data and be capable of conducting big data analysis; performing data conditioning; programming advanced computing; developing algorithms, software and AI/ML models; executing advanced analytics; and utilizing visualization tools to take advantage of the growing volume of available information.
• Create respective process documentation using a web-based version control.
• Provide written and verbal communication and respective business process.
• Produce quality and maintainable code within a multidisciplinary team to provide tailored intelligence support of mission requirements.
• Utilize industry standard tools such as Gitlab, Jira, and confluence for code version control, project management, product requirements, and user documentation.
• Automate retrieval of data from various sources via API and direct database queries for intelligence analysts and data scientists using SQL and Python.
• Support DevOps activities for deploying applications and databases using Gitlab CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

• Python, UI/UX optimization
• Seven years’ experience with modern Web technology
• Required experience with React
• Four years of experience with web application development using JavaScript frameworks, HTML, C5S, and similar web programming technologies.
• Experience with restful APIs, relational databases, and cross browser compatibility troubleshooting techniques. 
• SQL, NoSQL
• Agile software development methodology
• Experience developing customer driven applications for data collection and analysis.
• 5 years of experience using communication skills, both written and oral, to include preparation of written products for senior leader (general officer/flag officer/senior executive service level) use and the ability to communicate at all levels in a highly professional manner.
• Experience with Gitlab and Jira
• MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN

Desired Skills:

• R, C/C , SQL, Go, Flask, Streamlit, Dash, SQL Alchemy, CI/CD, Experience with Flask and React preferred.

Education & Certifications:

• Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or similar field.

Security Clearance: 

• Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI is required.
