Group Creative Director / Health

Weber Shandwick is looking for a Group Creative Director with an earned-first lens and a diverse agency background to manage several large-scale accounts within the Health Group.

We're seeking someone who is a highly conceptual problem solver, a compelling presenter of ideas, a builder of strong client relationships, and a leader of creative teams who will help us convey our clients' messaging in ways that can breakthrough in culture.

You'll have the chance to create award-winning work for national and global brands through earned, social, and traditional media for clients across different health categories and therapeutic areas. In addition, you will focus on elevating the current creative work from the team, while pushing for the highest quality thinking, craft and execution for new projects as well as with new business.

You'll be someone who excels in mentoring and managing a team of senior and junior creatives, leading by example, with a keen eye for organization and detail. You'll keep our teams motivated and focused on the task at hand - but you'll still love getting your hands dirty and creating the work alongside them.

You will work closely with the Chief Creative Officer and partner creative leads daily. You will also partner closely with the planning and media teams on ideas, and will manage the work with resourcing, project management, production, and client leaders to help propel the work forward and grow our business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the healthcare creative work with the CCO and partner creative leads over several major health brand and therapeutic areas.
  • Develop and deliver creative solutions that strengthen clients' market distinction and leadership position.
  • Generate innovative, world-class and earned first creative thinking across channels.
  • Articulateand justifyconceptual, executional and program ideas with culture and news worthiness at its center.
  • Guide, teach and mentor members of the creative team in further developing ideas.
  • Promote continual creative improvement and actively contribute to a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
  • Mentorand leadstaff to maintain consistent creative quality and award-winning work.
  • Lead concept,creative development, and presentation of new business development efforts
  • Continually develop practices and processes to inspire, innovate, and harness new ways of thinking.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • A strong portfolio of work
  • 10 years of experience in a creative leadership role
  • Extensive healthcare experience required.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the creative development process in a client-services environment.
  • Advancedknowledge of marketing, PR, creative development, campaign and brand development, digital marketing, and the creative process
  • Strong ability to provide clear creative direction and provide timely, helpful feedback to improvecreative processes and to keep work on budget and schedule.
  • Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities, both internal and client-facing
  • Ability to prioritize work and resources across engagements based on short and long-term needs.
  • Proven mentoring and team-building skills
  • A real understanding of what makes for compelling work.
  • The ability to concept across a broad range of media, in a variety of tones and voices.
  • Resilient mindset, a cheerful and positive attitude, and respect for others
  • A willingness to push creative boundaries.

NYC Salary range: $165,000 - $235,000

Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee's/applicant's background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
