Intown Stars is Hiring a Pre-Team Gymnastics Coach/Instructor Near Decatur, GA

Position Overview:

We have over 1900 recreational students and over 200 kids in our Team Program so there is ample room to grow with full time hours and management opportunities.

Assistant/Instructor Responsibilities

Pre-Team Coach/Instructor Responsibilities

  • To maintain all curriculum and lesson plans for your team/practice.
  • To manage up by viewing leadership as partners and actively engaging with your direct report.
  • To maintain retention numbers and growth in skills and progressions over the season.

Desired Skills and abilities. 

  • Ability to assist the program coordinator/manager with duties including but not limited to practices, training, athlete management and skill assessment scheduling.
  • Team player, able to offer and accept productive feedback. 
  • Lead a group of 6-10 kids independently in a safe, positive, fun-filled environment using our Intown Stars curriculum. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively with management, program participants, parents, coworkers, and community partners.
  • Positive attitude with staff, students, and parents
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic 
  • Must have the physical capacity to be on your feet throughout full 3-6 hour shifts and the strength required to provide spotting to students as needed per the level/skills you will coach. 
  • First Aid and CPR certified, or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire.
  • USAG Professional or instructor certified, or able to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Instructor: Past experience as a competitive gymnast and/or recreational instructor.
    • Ability to work afternoons, evenings, and weekends
    • Reliable and accountable. 

Desired Skills and Certifications:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Positive, energetic, cheerful attitude with staff, athletes, and parents
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • First Aid and CPR certified, or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire
  • Must have a passion for gymnastics and a love for children
  • Experience and Qualifications:
  • Any experience as a competitive tumbler/cheerleader/gymnast and/or as a gymnastics coach, or a field related to coaching positions is a plus but not required
  • Must have at least 1 year of experience working with children in a teaching or care setting. 

Necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, lead, and troubleshoot daily operations, services, and safety of the recreation program.
  • Knowledge and physical ability to teach high quality classes.
  • Ability to work with a growing team program and participate in collaborative activities to enhance the quality of the program and build the business.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with parents and students, as well as coworkers, supervisor, and Director. 
  • You must have the physical capacity to be on your feet throughout full 3-6 hours shifts and the strength required to provide spotting to students as needed per the level/skills you will coach.

Schedule requirements:

  • Weekday availability between 3:15 pm and 7:30 pm
  • Weekend availability between 9 am and 2 pm
  • Part-time
