Job Overview:
As a member within the Strategy Unit you will enable the IRC to put its strategy into action! With projects ranging from helping the organization to measure and improve its performance to identifying solutions to enable rapid growth in our program offices, your work will spread far and wide within IRC. Ultimately, the Strategy Unit works to help IRC deliver greater impact for those who we work with and serve, including more than 19 million people worldwide affected by conflict and crisis.
The Strategy Analyst will provide critical thinking and problem-solving support to the IRC on various projects aligned to the top priorities of the IRC. You will be part of a small, tight-knit project team that will quickly break down problems and iterate rapidly towards evidence-based solutions. This position requires strong strategic problem-solving skills, excellent social skills, a high level of personal initiative and the ability to work well in a diverse, dynamic environment.
The formal reporting line is to an Associate Director, but day to day reporting will depend on the assigned project.
Major Responsibilities:
•Lead analysis or small work streams in a project, taking full ownership for high-quality timely delivery
•Lead work planning, surfacing and quickly resolving roadblocks as they arise
•Conduct interviews with IRC staff to surface perspectives and ideas
•Apply structure to unpack ambiguous, complex problems
•Generate useful insights and evidence-based user-centric solutions, informed by standard methodologies, analysis, and consultation
•Drive strategy communications to the organization
•Chip in effectively to other Strategy Unit projects as required, and participate in full-team problem-solving
•Give and receive regular feedback and contribute actively to creating a positive, focused and effective team culture
•Adopt a learning approach and take personal responsibility for continuous performance improvement
Job Requirements:
Work / Educational Experience:
•Bachelor's degree or equivalent
•1-3 years of relevant work experience, with a track record of commitment
Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:
•Capability to lead multiple simultaneous demands in short time frames
•Strong organizational and time-management skills; proven ability to prioritize and deliver on time
•Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
•Highly developed ability to structure and creatively tackle complex problems
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as, an overall ability to be clear and concise in all communications
•Proven track record to work effectively with collaborators at multiple levels
•Great teammate and able to work independently in a dynamic, cross-functional international team structure
•Ability to lead and work through change in a proactive and positive manner
•Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite
Preferred experience & skills:
•Experience in a strategy role at either a strategy consulting firm, or in the strategy development function of a global organization
•Experience in international development, human rights or another field related to the IRC’s work
•Knowledge of French, Arabic or Spanish
Working Environment:
•Standard office working environment
•Some international travel
•This role may require working remotely full or part time and part time remote employees may be required to share workspace.

Compensation:
Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
