International Institute of St. Louis is Hiring a Refugee Services Coordinator Near St. Louis, MO

Imagine playing a key role in helping newly-arrived refugees to successfully achieve self-sufficiency. The Refugee Services Coordinator is responsible for ensuring administrative functions related to program referrals. Such as maintaining accurate client records and creating reports in accordance with funding and agency guidelines. This position is responsible for scheduling and completing program enrollment for eligible adults seeking employment assistance and/or case management support, and tracking activity participation on a weekly and monthly basis. Additionally, the position provides information, assistance, and referrals to refugee clients beginning their employment search as they begin to rebuild their lives.

Fluency in Spanish, Pashto, or Dari language (highly preferred)

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assess and enroll clients into appropriate program based on client need and program eligibility requirements
  • Complete quick intake for qualified clients
  • Review and record eligibility documentation and complete enrollment into programs
  • Schedule appointments for clients to meet with program caseworkers
  • Collect demographic info clients
  • Closely collaborate with the Client Services staff to assist in creating synergy amongst the program's training, pre-screening, career development, and outreach strategies
  • Contribute to an environment that fosters the organization's mission, teamwork, effective communication, responsiveness, service to the clients and service to the community
  • Perform other appropriate duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong organizational skills
  • Provide culturally competent, equitable client services with minimal direct supervision
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client records and information
  • Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team as necessary
  • Ability to work productively in a multicultural environment and demonstrate respect for differences
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to approach and resolve problems in a detail and solution-oriented manner

Other

  • Must have a car and a valid driver's license with proof of insurance
  • High level of language proficiency in either Spanish, Pashto, or Dari language (highly preferred)

Education and Experience

  • Two years related experience and/or related expertise in Refugee Resettlement
  • Experience working with electronic health record systems preferred.
