Position Overview:

We’re looking for a skilled Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team to help
process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner. The Accounts
Receivable Specialist will assist with keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our
valued clients. This is a full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Accounting
located in our Long Beach office.

Responsibilities:

● Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment

● Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and

collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous

differences are cleared

● Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits,

updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts

receivable sub-ledger

● Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and

mail

● Prepare analytical and ratio analyses relevant to AR so management can gain a better

understanding of how collection efforts are progressing

● Support other accounting team members with inventory management and cost

accounting

● Assist in receiving and tracking vendor/supplier preliminary notices and lien release

requirements and submittals and releases

● Enter new customers into accounting system

● Manage relations with customers with high degree of professionalism and efficiency by

email, phone and in-person if necessary

Candidate Requirements:

● High school diploma or equivalent required

● Previous accounting experience in plumbing, construction or real estate highly
preferred

● At least one year of experience in a similar accounting position

● Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Mac products and Quickbooks online
preferred

● Proficiency in lien and bond processes and regulations

● Understanding of basic principles of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping

● Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure

● Strong time management and organizational skills

● Strong attention to detail

● Professional, presentable and clear

● Excellent communication skills (written & verbal)

● Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
