Direct Supervisor: Accounts Receivable Supervisor
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization.
Essential Basic Requirements:
Experience:
- Position prefers 2-3 years experience of hands on Accounts Receivable or Accounting related experience
- Google Suite a must
- Knowledge of Yardi, preferred
- Knowledge of operating standard office equipment
- Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem solving skills
- Ability to research and audit with close attention to detail
- Ability to coach and guide onesite users on processes and procedures
- Ability to build relationships with internal departments.
- High School Diploma or equivalent, AA or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Have excellent communication skills - written and verbal, must also have experience in planning and organizing, prioritizing, problem assessment and problem solving.
- Ability to gather information, monitor schedules and analyze data, attention to detail and accuracy is mandatory.
- Customer service oriented with the ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles

- Applies customer payments.
- Researches and solves payment discrepancies
- Resolve banking discrepancies
- Reconcile non tenant receipts
- Make adjustments to accounts as needed.
- Works collaboratively with the Accounting team to reconcile bank statements
- Works collaboratively with the onsite team to ensure accuracy of resident accounts
- Resolve and respond timely to inquiries from other departments
- Ensure accurate data entry, coding, and allocation of payments and charges
- Obtaining information from other departments to ensure records are accurate and complete and that accounts receivable ledgers and journals are up-to-date.
- Performing administrative and clerical tasks, such as data entry, mailing move out statements, attaching supporting documents to resident records
- Ad-hoc tasks and projects as assigned.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
