We’re hiring a Part-Time Retail Associate to Live. Work. Explore. Just one mile from the entrance to the iconic south rim of Grand Canyon National Park!

Job Summary:As a retail associate in The Grand Hotel's lobby gift shop, you will ensure our guests have a quality shopping experience. The retail associate will greet customers, assist in finding just the right items, stock shelves, inventory product, and keep the store clean. Our ideal candidate will have an energetic personality, enjoy engaging in the customer's Grand Canyon experience, and be able to operate the cash register to provide efficient check out services.

Preferred Start Date: 5/28/2024Pay: $15.10 per hourSchedule: 20-25 hours a week - ideally a Thurs-Saturday or Friday - Sunday schedule.

Responsibilities

• Professionally and courteously handle the sale of retail purchases in the gift shop.
• Demonstrate product and park knowledge while providing information to guests and vendors.
• Perform cashiering duties properly, recording the sales in the register accurately and following correct accounting procedures.
• Keep sales floor and stock room clean and organized; including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, scrubbing, mopping, and trash removal.
• Keep merchandise stocked and organized.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Previous retail and cash handling experience preferred.
• Knowledge of the Grand Canyon National Park and surrounding areas a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
• Must be well-groomed and have excellent personal hygiene.

Physical Requirements include:

• Excellent hearing & listening skills.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 20 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, reach, and stretch on a regular basis.
