Where we need help

We’re looking for a skilled product developer with experience in footwear construction, technical footwear design and fit to manage the product creation process from initial concept through commercialization and production.

What does the job entail?

You’ll lead the construction, sampling and fit of innovative products, managing on time development and delivery.

  • Partner with Design to create and revise tech packs through PLM, and ensure all appropriate development documentation is maintained, including product specs and prototype notes. 
  • Conduct fit sessions and execute construction standards for a category or product group.
  • Create product calendars and manage timelines of the Team from materials to samples.
  • Track and facilitate prototyping for styles; identify and address key issues and challenges in construction/manufacturing and timelines accordingly to deliver approved and tested product.
  • Coordinate all sampling of assigned collections
  • Facilitate and prepare for all review meetings for Product Strategy Team
  • Use your technical design experience to identify key construction techniques which will enhance the style and accelerate the performance of the design
  • Track development progress and communications with suppliers/factories and report status via weekly Huddle Meetings
  • Successfully develop and approve assigned styles according to company GTM calendar
  • Schedule and facilitate all fit sessions with appropriate parties, including virtual sessions with overseas partners.
  • Work closely with product design, materials innovation, sustainability, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to meet product specification, sustainability, performance, and profitability goals.

What kind of person are we looking for?

We’re looking for a unique combination of Product Developer, Technical Designer and Fit Expert to help lead our footwear product creation process, with a deep understanding of materials, construction and manufacturing.

More practical skills needed:

  • BA/BS in Textile/Apparel/Footwear Science or Design
  • 5 years’ experience in materials development and/or product development or 7 years’ experience in lieu of a degree
  • Knowledge of basic patterns and how to communicate changes
  • Footwear specifications and footwear construction
  • Product Testing experience, and on-body and physical property testing
  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and CAD pattern design software
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PLM systems such as Centric Software

What do we offer?

In Office: The pay range for this role is: $142k - $155k and must be performed in our Portland, OR office. We have a hybrid work culture where we are In Office Tues-Thurs and remote Mon and Fri.
