Interfaith Community Services is Hiring a Financial Management Course Facilitator - Temporary Position Near Tucson, AZ

Description: Under the general direction of the Self-Sufficiency Program Manager, the Financial Management Course Facilitator is responsible for the implementation of ICS’ ‘Bridges Financial Management Course (BFMC),’ an important educational offering for individuals seeking financial empowerment. The 10-week course empowers participant “investors” to build social capital with bankers, investors and other community financial resources to create their financial future story. 

All positions at ICS are expected to interact with clients, volunteers, and staff in a professional manner, reflecting ICS’s Core Values Respect, Integrity, Compassion, Collaboration, and Innovation. Volunteers and donors are integral to successful mission-delivery of ICS services. Employees are expected to interact with all clients, volunteers and donors in a manner consistent with ICS core values.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Duties:

  • Maintain communication and relationships with speakers and presenters representing various banking agencies across the community.
  • Interview and maintain communication with participant “investors” over the course of the class.
  • Organize and present material about financial topics including but not limited to budgeting, credit, renting vs. owning, interest rates, etc.
  • Arrange in-person and online classes, securing attendance and participation from participant “investors.”
  • Plan and execute (in conjunction with ICS staff) a graduation ceremony for those that complete the class.
  • Distribute and collect pre and post surveys to collect feedback about the course.

Additional Duties:

  • Serve as a representative of ICS for projects, events, and/or coalitions as requested.
  • Other assignments as directed by or under the supervision of ICS.

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commitment to ICS’s mission and goals and able to relate and work with a wide range of individuals and community organizations.
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing poverty, or going through times of crisis
  • Fluency in virtual classroom platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.)
  • Bilingual, Spanish and English preferred. 
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must obtain and maintain a level one fingerprint clearance card.

Reports to: Self-Sufficiency Program Manager

Location: Various, partially remote

Supervises: Co-facilitator

Work Schedule: Approximately 5-10 hours per week for approximately 15 weeks, not to exceed 100 hours. This job is remote with the exception of a few in-person meetings and graduation event at the end of the course.

FLSA Status: N/A

Compensation: $22-$25/hr. based on experience
