Duties:
1. Read and interpret architectural drawings; cleaning them up to use as backgrounds.
2. Examine electronic drawings and supporting documents to verify dimensions, type of construction system(s), and requirements in materials for design layouts.
3. Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, according to structural requirements, and design specifications.
4. Produce precise structural drawings (floor plans and details) using computer-aided drafting (CAD) and/or Revit software.
5. Pick-up engineering redlines and review them prior to issuing drawings.
6. Incorporate changes to construction documents throughout the life of the project.
7. Use x-refs/links to set up the structural set and import PDF files into AutoCAD and Revit as necessary.
8. Identify potential issues and discuss with the design team to improve project design efficacy.
9. Ensure that all layouts and blueprints are compliant with industry standards.
10.Maintain open and effective communication with the design team regarding project progress and schedule.
11. Produce structural sections and elevations when required by the complexity of the project.
12. Attend in-house meetings for CAD/Revit-users to help enhance company templates and standards.
13. Participate in professional development activities to enhance job knowledge and stay up to date on changing trends and industry best practices associated with assigned area of responsibility.
14.Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
Experience:
· 1 - 2 years of experience in Architectural Drafting, Building Construction, BIM Modeling, Structural Design and/or drafting required
· Basic understanding of construction systems
· Experience using CAD (5 years) and Revit (2 years)
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
· Ability to balance between quality and speed and understand the importance of productivity on the job
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Familiar with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and/or similar PDF producing software
