Collin College is Hiring an Adjunct Professor, Field Engineering/Site Surveying (Applicant Pool 2023-2024) Near Allen, TX

We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
Job Summary:
Responsible to prepare and deliver coursework in engaging, innovative, and discipline-appropriate ways that reflect a commitment to the college's Core Values, an understanding of culturally responsive teaching, and knowledge of the teaching field. Meet professional standards for faculty in accordance with college policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in accordance with the schedule of classes and follow the approved course descriptions and syllabi established by the Division faculty and administered by the Associate Dean/Director.
  • Teaching assignments may be on one or more of the college's campuses or off-site locations and may include evening and weekend programs. Collin College is not hiring for on-line instruction at this time.
  • May include Dual Credit courses.
Supplemental Functions
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and Core Values.
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
  • Knowledge and experience in Site Survey Layout
  • Knowledge and experience with all tools required
  • Experience teaching adults in a classroom setting
  • A recognized certification in the surveying field
  • Proficiency in course-related software/hardware such as Carlson Survey, ArcGIS, Excel, Word, Leica Total Stations, Automatic Levels and Network GPS units
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and survey field crew specific tools; able to climb ladders to heights of at least 20 feet; able to lift 50 pounds to a height of three feet; able to perform all normal and expected duties of a survey crew chief.
Requirements
Associate degree in a related field and three (3) years' work experience as a full-time crew chief, SIT or similar.
Preferred Experience and Training:
A bachelor's degree in a related field. At least five (5) years' work experience as a full-time crew chief, SIT, or RPLS; experience training field crew helpers/apprentices; experience teaching adults in a classroom setting; a recognized certification in the surveying. UAV/UAS surveying/mapping experience and an FAA part 107 license.
