Job Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care to patients including personal hygiene maintenance
• Record the patients’ vital signs (including blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate)
• Collect patient’s health information
• Relay information between patients, registered nurses, and physicians
• Give oral medications and injections to patients
• Prescription Refills
• Assist providers in minor surgical procedures
• Urinary catheter insertion and care
• Urodynamics and Post Void Residuals if applicable – after being trained
• Blood Draws
• Patient Teaching/Counseling from the direction of physician
• Proper charting, documentation, and maintenance of patient’s medical records

Minimum Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Current LPN License
• Medical Terminology (preferred, but not necessary)
• BCLS/ACLS
• Annual Required in-services and training.
• Infection control certificate
• PPD Annual Test
• Annual Influenza Vaccine
