InStride Health is Hiring a Remote Vice President of Payor Solutions

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Vice President of Payor Solutions to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a deep understanding of the healthcare payor landscape, a track record of developing and implementing successful payor solutions, and a knack for cross-functional collaboration and problem solving. This role plays a critical piece in the payor sales process (along with our Chief Growth Officer and other C-level execs), in designing a solution to get to the appropriate outcome for the payor and InStride, getting full payor buy-in, and carrying forward that buy-in through our team’s full go-live of the solution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive payor solutions to optimize reimbursement rates, improve contract negotiations, and enhance overall financial performance.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with payor organizations, including commercial insurance companies, government payors, and managed care organizations.
  • Lead the negotiation of payor contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that align with organizational objectives. This requires a strong understanding of InStride’s multi-dimensional ROI and being able to map how that translates for each payor in order to design the appropriate solution.
  • Develop deep understanding of the inner workings of payor organizations, with an ability to problem solve challenges as they arise related to systems, processes, organizational structures.
  • Create a “one-team” environment with payor clients to drive progress and results efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting payor relationships, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Partner closely with the payor account management team to deepen existing payor relationships. Identify opportunities to renegotiate better terms/rates, drive patient acquisition, and enable data-driven reporting and analyses.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including finance, operations, and clinical departments, to drive alignment and achieve strategic goals.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in payor-related processes and systems to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and analyses to senior leadership, highlighting key performance metrics and opportunities for growth.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, forums, and events, building our reputation as a leader in payor solutions.

What You Need to Succeed in the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in payor relations, contracting, or managed care within the healthcare industry or within consulting
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating complex payor contracts and driving revenue growth.
  • Superior problem solving skills, and ability to “get to yes” by identifying solutions to complex challenges within payor environments (systems limitations, diffuse accountability, complex organizational structures, etc.)
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional internal and client teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and strategic thinking, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Deep knowledge of healthcare payor trends, regulations, and reimbursement methodologies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity, transparency, and ethical business practices.

Why Join Our Team

  • Opportunity to join a mission-driven company that is changing the landscape of pediatric mental health treatment
  • Ability to help hundreds of children and families access desperately-needed evidence-based care
  • Opportunity to work with talented and experienced team members who have devoted their lives to solving this problem
  • Competitive compensation and generous benefits package for doing what you love
  • 401(k) with employer matching
  • Paid parental leave policy
  • 4-week paid sabbatical after 5 years of employment
  • Fully remote work environment, enabling you to work from the comfort of your home with periodic, in-person team retreats
