What will you do?The ATDM Welding Lab Technician will require a driven individual to assist with an accelerated, short-term program in advanced manufacturing. Duties may include but are not limited to lab setup, maintaining inventory, preventative maintenance of equipment, supporting curriculum development and assisting with instruction. 

Where will you work?We are looking for staff to work onsite in Danville, VA.

Shift Availability
ATDM Technicians are assigned shifts based on training needs. Shift assignments are based on business needs at the time of hiring, performance, and tenure. These positions require the flexibility to work all shifts as the program needs change. Your salary will include a shift differential based on the class times you are assigned to instruct. First shift classes start at 7:00 a.m. Second shift classes start at 3:00 p.m. Third shift classes start at 11:00 p.m.

Why is the position open?

Because of the growth of our campus through success in our many programs, we’re adding more Instructors to our team. Due to the success of our Manufacturing Advancement team in executing the Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Program in partnership with the Department of the Navy, this is a new position that is funded by a federal contract. The position is funded through June 2025. IALR will continue to request funding beyond 2025.
