Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a psychiatric setting
- Administer medications and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
- Implement therapeutic interventions and monitor patient progress
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Document patient interactions and maintain accurate medical records
- Participate in discharge planning and provide appropriate referrals for continued care
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license and certification as a Psychiatric Nurse
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, treatments, and medications
- Experience in utilizing electronic medical record systems (e.g., Cerner)
- Familiarity with utilization management processes and procedures
- Ability to provide compassionate care to patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Proficiency in performing aseptic techniques for laboratory procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team
