Our hydraulic cylinders are used by clients across all kinds of industries, including machine manufacturing, civil engineering, construction equipment manufacturing, OEM manufacturing, defense and more.

I. SUMMARY:

Sets up and operates hand-welding, sub-arc and flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.

II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Read, process sheets, blueprints, and sketches of part to determine welding to be done, dimensional specifications, set up, and operating requirements.

· Perform quality inspections using applicable measuring devices.

· Interpret and assist with the development of work instructions.

· Identify, select and install proper tooling for operations being performed.

· Calculate proper feeds and speeds for a variety of different tasks.

· Intuitively understand capabilities of tooling and machinery.

· Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections.

· Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

· Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

· Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

· Maintains safe operations by adhering to all Innovative Hydraulics policies and procedures.

· Seek out, identify, and actively participate in Continuous Improvement opportunities.

· Work with management and engineering to report flaws in process and/or design.

· May perform other duties as requested due to workload or need in another area.

III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

IV. QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. V. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Two year welding diploma or one to two years or more of welding experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to read and understand blue prints. Prior experience with precision inspection equipment including, but not limited to, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges preferred.

VI. LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and keep detailed records. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and sometimes customers.

VII. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

VIII. REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

IX. PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle objects, tools, or controls, and to climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
