The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), Bureau of Information Technology, is recruiting to fill an Information Technology Coordinator vacancy. This position would be stationed at our DNR Headquarters Madison office. Telework may be available for up to 60% of the week and adjusted as necessary to accommodate customer IT support needs.

Position Summary

This position has responsibility to ensure division staff have the IT hardware, software, technology, and services to do their jobs. This position serves as information technology coordinator serving the Internal Services Division, responsible for coordinating statewide delivery of information technology support and coordination services to employees in all programs in Central Office and each Region. This position is responsible for procuring, testing, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of bureau hardware, software, and external IT assets; researching and monitoring new and emerging department and enterprise software and technologies; recommending service delivery efficiency and cost savings strategies to bureau management.

Salary Information

The classification title for this position is IS Technical Services Specialist. The starting salary is between $36.00 and $41.15 per hour ($74,880 and $85,592 annually), depending on qualifications. The pay schedule/range is 07-33.

Pay on appointment will follow the provisions of the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan.

This position includes an excellent benefits package, including health care, vacation, sick leave, and retirement benefits. A 12-month probationary period may be required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Minimally qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience providing IT customer service to problem solve IT hardware, software and telecom issues.

Well-qualified applicants will have:

  • Experience purchasing hardware and software, imaging computers, deploying, maintaining/troubleshooting computers, surpluses computer hardware, software, purchasing and supporting telecom, peripherals, and IT accessories (e.g., printers, monitors, scanners, etc.) in a Windows environment.
  • Experience using IT asset inventory management process and tools (e.g., Cherwell, ServiceNow, other).
  • Experience using and supporting live media production tools and technology for large group in person, virtual meetings/webcasting.
